The annual SWEMA Texas Meter School attracts metering professionals from across the United States. It’s the leading program of its kind.

Join us for the 2026 SWEMA Meter School to be held on October 26- October 30, 2026.

SWEMA manages this week-long program in partnership with utilities, equipment manufacturers, and suppliers. Our partners provide expert instructors and regularly monitor and update the curriculum. The registration includes lunch for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The School meets every fall in Bryan-College Station, TX.

SWEMA takes the safety of our instructors and students seriously!


Instructors and students attending Course I, Course II, and Course III will be required to wear the PPE listed below while participating in the hands-on labs.

SWEMA’s hospitality room will be held at the Hilton College Station, the host hotel for SWEMA Meter School.

“Introduction to Electrical Metering,” is designed to provide a foundational understanding of electrical metering. The course covers DC and AC circuits, calculator use, meter math, and energy/power concepts. It also delves into meter theory, solid-state metering, AMI, meter forms, and single-phase load characteristics. Furthermore, the course includes practical aspects like meter testing, single-phase meter safety, installation and removal, meter diversion detection, and basic transformer theory.
